주한영국문화원 선생님의 IELTS Tip 9 - Listening

주한영국문화원 선생님이 직접! 들려주는 아이엘츠 Study Tip 9번째 시간이에요. 이번에는 듣기 시험에 대한 내용으로, 타이밍과 악센트에 관련된 팁~입니다. 보시고 시험에 많은 도움 되시길 바랄게요~

Listening- Timing and Accents

Many of the questions you may have about the listening module are answered on the IELTS website.

Among these, the following are worth repeating here:

  • Answers are never more than 3 words. If you write more than 3 words, then something is wrong and you will lose marks.

  • This includes numbers and short function words such as ‘a’ and ‘the’. In the case of numbers and symbols.

  • Numbers can be written in full or numerals can be used. It is probably better and easier to use numerals e.g. $20,000 as it is easy to make grammatical/spelling mistakes (twenty thousand dollars not twenty thousand dollar, twenty thousands dollars etc.).

  • Be careful with your spelling and grammar as it is possible to lose marks when writing short answers even if you understood the question e.g. if the answer is ‘the United Kingdom’, ‘United Kingdom’ may not get full marks. Likewise, ‘dog’ and ‘dogs’ are not the same (the first probably refers to meat whereas the second refers to the animal).

Good luck!
