IELTS에는 영국식 영어만 나오는 것이 아니라는 사실, 이미 알고 계시죠? 자, 아래 공부 전략 보시고 많은 도움 되시길 바랄게요.

IELTS Tips – Listening – Timing and Accents

In the Listening Section, there will be a variety of accents, so don’t be surprised when you hear a British, American, Australian or even non-native speaker’s voice.

There are 4 sections, with the first being the easiest and the last one the most difficult. Don’t forget that you will only hear the recording once.

Tips

  • Use practice materials to prepare and also try to use authentic sources e.g. try to understand the basic topic of news broadcasts, TV programmes etc. with out using subtitles. At the same time, try to listen for the important details.

  • You are given a short time to look at the questions before you hear the recording. Use this time to read them and guess the answers in advance (you probably won’t have time to write anything down). Then, when you listen, you may find that you were right, and even if you were wrong, you should now have more chance of giving the correct answer.

  • As you listen, you write your answers on the question sheet – you can write as much as you like and as messily as you like. But try to write something for every answer. In that way, when you transfer your answers to the answer sheet after the recordings have finished, you will have a chance of answering the question.

Good luck!
